Reading reviews all summer I was very worried that I had chosen the wrong cruise for my group. Many of them were first time cruisers and as I have always spoke so glowingly about cruising,(4 on Splendour of The Seas )many of the reviews were rather negative. The reason I had chosen this one was because of the direct flight from Cork to Malaga which made a group trip more practical.

To go into every detail would take pages and pages so I will point out the negatives and highlight the positives.

The positives.Adventure is an amazing ship, with every kind of pass time you could wish for, fitness facilities are second to none and even walking on deck is a workout.I did look in the fitness center,( that is about as far as I got),but it looked impressive with plenty of space and availability. We had no problem with finding seats on deck, maybe not poolside but close enough. The pools were always busy but those who wished to take a dip or use the Jacuzzi found space for themselves.Groups of people did tend to take over the pools but we fought our corner!!The poolside activities were dominated by one nationality but given there were 2700 of them versus 700 others it was to be expected.I do believe it should be flagged that this is the case by agents etc.Only that I had read reviews here, our cruise would have been a lot less successful as I was aware about eating early for every meal thus avoiding the big big rush.I was able to advise the group accordingly. The staff were as good as any other ship I have been on and many do go the extra mile for you.The ship is begining to look a tad old but still is a most beautiful and spectacular vessel. It really does have the WOW factor and all my group were blown away by the sheer size and glamour of it.We all enjoyed the shows some were much better than others, although I found the production shows to be brilliant and of a very high standard I would concur with an earlier reviewer about the plate spinner. The Ice show was for most of us,the highlight of the week, not a tumble and full of wonderful individual skating and production values.I personally was not so keen on the parades in The Royal Promenade as I found the crush of people to be too much. The cabins were fine, our group had a range, from inside to Junior suite and all were happy enough.I would not recommend the sharing of anything less than a junior suite, for 3 or more, space is at a premium as is to be expected but I found that we had just enough room in our suite, dearer, but well worth it.Food at times could have been warmer but we must remember where we are and the constraints on a kitchen and staff.
