Very enjoyable & relaxing cruise overall. Definitely not the "typical party" atmosphere found on other cruise destinations (don't want to scare the wildlife after all, huh?). Train ride from Anchorage to Seward worth every penny when compared to the bus option but you do board the ship later in the day (little time left to eat in the Windjammer before the muster drill - plan to eat on the train instead). Hubbard Glacier was AWESOME & our ship was able to get in the closest to the glacier compared to the other ships/cruises of the 2012 season. Didn't see a lot of wildlife during the trip (whales were shy) so I would recommend a whale watching excursion if you want to see whales & wildlife. If you are physically able, the Zip-rider at Icy Strait Point is a MUST DO (was NOT bad at all - no BIG drop - just sitting in the chair gliding down the mountainside - we had seniors riding this & they wanted to ride it again). Other excursions I would recommend are the White Pass Train (Skagway), Mendenhall Glacier (Juneau), & the Lumberjack Show (Ketchikan).

Cabin review: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

D2
Had a D2 cabin which was adequate for 2 persons for 7 nights. Only downside was that the TV was on the same side of the room as the headboards (could only watch TV from the sofa & I tend to fall asleep watching TV). Also most of the movie channels did not work while in port (satellite issue per guest relations).

Port and Shore Excursions

Zip-lining
A once in a lifetime experience! If you are physically able, the Zip-rider at Icy Strait Point is a MUST DO (was NOT bad at all - no BIG drop - just sitting in the chair gliding down the mountainside - we had seniors riding this & they wanted to ride it again).
Lumberjack Show
Was a combo tour of a city tour (via motorized trolley), the Saxman Totems, & the Lumberjack Show. Only downside was the rainy weather that day BUT everyone stayed nice & dry at the Lumberjack Show (covered area with heaters above).
