Eight day cruise - stops at St. Thomas USVI, Antiqua, Tortola BVI and Nassua Bahamas Came in the night before and stayed at the Farifield Inn at Dania Beach near the airport and Port Everglades. Nice place, paid $109, got complimentary airport pick up and cruise port ride. Also got complimentary breakfast (so - so). For $25 per person got transportation to and from the Hard Rock Casino and $20.00 slot voucher. Embarkation on to the ship was painless, we were on the ship in fifteen minutes or less. Carnival has much improved over the first time we cruised this port three years ago. The cabin was ready when we board about noon. We had fish and chips which was very good. This is located on deck nine above the buffet. Check it out, no crowd, very good food. We went to the Welcome Aboard Show, good entertainment. We also hit the casino and donated to Carnival, very tight slot machines. Saturday Beatles show was excellent. We ate most of our meals in the dining room, excellent service. The food was good, but not great. The best meal was the prime rib and probably worse was the fried chicken. The pizza was above average and ice cream very good, both available 24 hours a day. Excursion - best - See and Sea excursion on Tortola, very worth the money. Worse - Historical Tour of Nassau Bahama. they jammed ten people in a Mitsubishi mini-van, no air conditioning, couldn't understand or hear the tour guide. Complained to Carnival and they gave 25 percent discount, still a rip-off. My advice if you want a tour, cut your own deal with a taxi and make sure their air conditioning works. Went scuba diving on St. Thomas (Admitalty Dive) and Anitqua (Indigo Dive), set up both dives on the internet. I will write a review of both and put on the scuba dive blogs here. We really enjoyed our aft extended balcony, very nice. Our cabin attendent Usa was excellent. Our dining room staff were both friendly and fast. My only complaint on the cruise was the Nassau excursion.

Cabin review: Aft-View Extended Balcony

7444 aft extended balcony - standard balcony room size, but the extended balcony was nice. The view from the aft was excellent. We really enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony. Having ESPN as a standard station would be a nice feature. Also showing Thursday night NFL football on the big screen television on the lido deck would have been nice. Instead they had it on in the smoke filled sports bar.

Port and Shore Excursions

Indigo Dives - two tank reef dives, boat was nice, staff friendly and very safety oriented

City Tour
Jammed too many people in mini-van, no air conditioning, could not hear or understand driver. Carnival needs to either change tour guides or kill this tour.
Carnival excursion See and Sea trip, beautiful island. Road was steep and curvy but driver did an excellent job of maneuvering up and down, in and out! The sea portion was on a very nice boat, the crew were entertaining. Rum punch was served, not cheap water downed drink. They gave you as much as you wanted, my wife and friends got more than their share of the rum punch. Great trip
