First time travelling with Carnival. The "Breeze" being a new ship was in pristine condition and the outside cabin we had on deck one was fine.
The food was OK but only in relation to choice. Quality was not a factor to be considered. As with other reviewers we never saw a wine waiter in the dining room and had to keep asking for a drink with our meal. Mostly this arrived after we had finished eating.
The Maitre De was a complete waste of space. The only time we saw him going around the dining tables was on the last evening when all the staff were looking for additional tips, apart from us being charged and debited with $138 each for service without even having the courtesy of being asked.
The entertainment was a disgrace. In the ovation theatre there were a few evenings when some second rate dancers pranced around to pre recorded pop music. A lot of time there was absolutely nothing. On the plus side the Breeze Band on plaza deck 5 were excellent with a good selection of songs and tunes well played and the singer was excellent with plenty of personality.
We discovered on talking to regular Carnival cruisers from the US that this ship was well blow par for food and entertainment.
All we knew is that it was nowhere near comparible with other cruises we have taken.
The cruise Director and his accomplice - Kelvin/Calvin were an absolute disgrace. Cringeworthy best describes this untalented pair. I will say no more due to slander laws.
