Sail Date: Sep 2012
Cabin: Concierge Class 3

Our cabin and shower-room was very small compared to other cruise ships that we had been on. Wardrobe space adequate but only three tiny small draws to store our clothes (kept most of them in ther suitcase - under the bed). The over-bed cupboards were unusable as too short to reach them even when we stood on the bed. Shore excursions were O.K. but very little (if any) detailed information from the tour guide. We decided to explore the ports of call ourselves, after finding the shuttle service was very expensive there are bus and taxi services at each harbour.

Do please CHECK the menu in the Grand Cuvee Restaurant; If you are expecting a Fine Dinning Experience? then be very aware of what to expect. I suggest you eat at each port of call before your return to the ship. The menu description in the Grand Cuvee Restaurant will be very different to the finished dish presented to you. Our dishes were always bland, uninspiring and definitely not what was expected from a fine dinning experience. The vegetables invariably under cooked and cold; the mash potato excellent although extremely salty.

Steak was always good but the PEPPER SAUCE? was gravy with added ground black pepper??. Gravadlax? came without the usual mustard and dill sauce (when asked the assistant waiter presented us with a bottle of Colman's English mustard?). If you order the Roullarde it will consist of two tiny mini-sponge rolls containing hard cream. The Beef Wellington? (not individually wrapped with mushrooms in fine pastry) comes with chicken pate??.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 3

Very small closet/shower room; only room for one person at a time and nowhere to put towels only tiny pegs in shower. Over head cupboards were unusable and not practical although the wardrobe was adequate. Only THREE very small draws (perhaps only placement for socks and underwear) so left our clothes in the suit case (Not really what was expected), considering the price paid for our cruise. Balcony had room to move but again only one person at a time as you have to maneuver around the chairs and table to get back into the cabin. Could not hear the public announcements in our cabin and not really clear when in the corridor either so missed the Captains daily update. Could not hear the announcements in the Ocean view Cafe.
