Average Cruise

Sail Date: September 2012
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

The 2.0 upgrades were awesome, but the mediocre rest of the stuff made this cruise just average for us.
We arrived at the port and the priority check-in for Platinum was very poor. We have traveled through the Galveston port as priority and was treated like a valued customer....not here. Then when we got to the entrance of the ship they were having trouble with 2 of the machines for pictures and it was a slow delayed process. Our cabin was an interior one and it was nice. Our cabin steward, Juan, was very nice. The only negative was that he was slow and our room was never ready before 10 pm each night. The room was kept very clean and he did take care of any needs that we had.
We did the anytime dining and had a window table every night and it was fantastic. Had a different server every night, but service was very good. Food was good and hot in the dining room.
Can't say enough about Guy's Burgers, it was totally the best ever!! Service was great and the food, More wow, it was fabulous!! I want it on every ship!!
Burritos and tacos were good too. My husband had the breakfast burrito and loved it too!!
The buffet was bland....it served the same food at each station, what's up with that?? And then the back line, where the the burgers used to be never had anything. The buffet was always very crowded breakfast and lunch. The pizza was terrible, thin with nothing much on it.
The entertainment really left a lot to be desired. The dancers and singers were not very good and other than a juggler, they had nothing in the main theater! No calaypso band at the pool, instead there was a bad singer!!! Yuch!! The comedians in the punchliner were good!
One of the main annoying things was the cruise director coming on several times a day on the pa very very loud with advertising of the things for that day. Talk about not relaxing!!! The Serenity deck was nice, but they did not have it as a quiet zone, their were tons of loud people and kids roaming around. We have loved it on other ships, but not this one. The debarktation was very fast and good. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Liberty Interior Verandah 8436

We were on the Veranda deck in the back fo the ship and in the mornings you could here the deck chairs being put out and on the last day, the thrusters pulling into port about knocked you out of bed at 5am!! The room was kept very clean. The shower in the room had a drain that didn't work to well and would back up causing water to be all over the floor in the bathroom. The room was very close to the back pool and to the buffets, that was nice!

Port and Shore Excursions

We took the tender and went to shore, unfortunately I was not feelign well, so we went back to the ship without doing anything here.

We went to Mistor Santos. It was $15 each way by taxi. It is a wonderful relaxing beach where the chairs are free. We snorkeled here and that was pretty good.

We took a taxi for $5 to Sea Grape Beach. The chairs are $8 a piece here. It has some great snorkeling. There is an awesome bar and restaurant right there and we enjoyed both of those!!

(5.5)
The ship was at Mahonay Beach and we just walked to the beach there and it was so very nice!! We picked some chairs and just relaxed with a couple of drinks and enjoyed the day. Love this port!!
