We found the Radiance of the Seas to be a very nice ship, friendly staff in dining room, they were both friendly and knowledgeable of the food being served, always remembering what you want to drink and always happy and smiling. They always remembered your name if they saw you in another area of the ship. Our room steward was very friendly, always remembering your name, asking about your day and helpful with port questions. Very clean ship. All the entertainment was first class and a good variety of shows. We had a problem with our land tour somehow being cancelled (we had not cancelled) but the efficient staff made a call to the main office in Miami and it was all straightened out very quickly. The food was good in the dining room and always hot, but although the food and variety of food in the Windjammer Cafe was good, it was not always as hot as I would have liked. I would have liked to have had coffee available mid-ship or at the back of the ship. You had to go to the Park Cafe, Windjammer Cafe or dining room for coffee. The only mid-ship coffee was for purchase at Starbucks. Getting on and off the ship was very easy, very efficient process.
We continued with a land tour to Anchorage, Denali, Fairbanks. What a wonderful addition to the cruise. Great tour guide (Katie), bus driver (Melissa), loved the domed train tour (Wilderness Express) great food and beautiful scenery. Would highly recommend the ship and the land tour.
Nice room at back of ship, quiet, good view from balcony, balcony was nice size. Great beds! Speaker in the room to hear announcements from the captain did not work, had to open the door to hear from the hall or turn on the TV to a certain station to hear. Very efficient safety meeting PRIOR to leaving the port of Vancouver. I thought it was great that they even checked attendance.
