Unbelievable honeymoon with amazing itinerary

Sail Date: August 2012
Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean
Embarkation: Barcelona

Embarkation:
Taxi from the airport to the ship in Barcelona will run you about 35 euro, its about 15 min drive. Arrived at port at 1230, plenty of porters outside and greeted by several available RCI reps after going through a maze of empty lines divided up by Crown and Anchor levels. After receiving our ship cards there was a few duty free shops inside the terminal. Be aware that duty free liquor purchased here cannot be brought onto the ship, it will be confiscated.
Ship overall impression:
The ship is in good condition and is kept very clean per usual by RCI. The staff seemed nice and friendly but were nothing to write home about. Needed a corkscrew one night and had some trouble getting one. Entertainment quantity i felt was lacking but understandable with a port intensive itinerary. I did not attend any of the main shows but heard good things about them.
Stateroom:
E1 balcony room was decent size with plenty of storage for 2. Tight shower but it is a More plastic tube enclosure which is an improvement over a curtain. Room furniture had very some wear such as worn legs, tarnished metals, stained drawer bottoms, tired deflated couch. Bed was comfortable with nice fresh looking linens and plenty of pillows.
Food:
Windjammer offered a good and varied selection of foods every day. Food was hot and plentiful. Ice cream machine located in the back left corner. Outdoor seating aft is great. Solarium cafe offers good wraps and fresh pizza, both were good. Main dining room for us provided excellent service, decent menu selection. Food was always hot and quality was great. We ate in chops once, steak was excellent and cooked to perfection! Sides were enormous and great as well. Service was impeccable as usual with all the attention you can handle from your server without being overbearing.
Seaview cafe was great as well, cuban sandwich, chicken wings, chips and salsa, brownie were all delicious and cooked to order. We used it for late night snacks, they are open till 1am.
Ports:
Great choice of itinerary, Dubrovnik was beautiful. Ravenna was a beach day for us. Took advantage of the overnight in Venice and stayed out late and went to dinner, i would recommend it. Less

Port and Shore Excursions

Rented a car and drove to Eze. Walked from port to Hertz in Cannes. City was beautiful and clean. Beach seemed nice but it was packed. Plenty of high end shopping in the area. Driving rental car was relatively easy and traffic was not anything terrible. Eze was gorgeous and I recommend stopping there. Went into the gardens, worth the 10 or so euro to get in.
