We chose this trip for the dates and the ship and not the itinerary. We booked the cruise through the company and were pleased with the minor charge for the upgrade to concierge class. The rooms were not different but there were perks like, flowers in the room, champagne on arrival, nightly snacks brought to your room and best of all high thread count sheets with feather pillows that made the beds so much more comfortable. The paint in the shower was shipping and the ship was not as spic and span as it once was but our room steward was very attentive.
Because we had been on the ship before we did not need to take extra time to find our way around. We chose to eat all of our breakfasts and lunches in the spa dining area. The food was so much better and healthier. There had been some disappointing omissions in the breakfast and lunch choices since our last cruise but still better than the other dining choices. They also had upgraded wine choices in the spa dining areas that added a nice added touch to a late lunch.
Without a doubt our dining experiences in the Olympia speciality restaurant was one of the highlights of the cruise. We ate there 4 out of the 7 nights and the service and food seemed to get better each night. The staff made us feel like royalty and as I looked around I could see that each person was receiving the same high standard of service. The food was coupled with wine selections that created the perfect balance and complement. We went out of our way to write letters to Celebrity to express our satisfaction and to commend several staff in the Olympia who stood out among the already exceptional.
