We spent a week sailing the Baltic Sea on a great itinerary. Check in and boarding at Copenhagen was a breeze. Having sailed Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas before, we had an idea of what to expect. This trip was on Brilliance, which is a class smaller than Navigator. The size made a difference and we felt it in the lack of good programming and entertainment options on the Brilliance. Luckily we only had two days at sea. Pros: -Staff was friendly and worked hard -Ship and stateroom kept very clean -Our balcony stateroom 8588 had an extra large balcony with a lounger since it was on the "hump" -Ports were fantastic; we took no ship excursions, but did use the shuttles to the city centers twice -Excellent fitness center -Expensive, but good spa experience Cons: -Lack of adequate seating at the Windjammer buffet. Nearly every meal we ate there, we had trouble finding an open table. Often we were forced to eat outside, which was rather cold at times. -Overall the food lacked flavor and creativity. Other cruisers made the same comment. Even after only 7 days, the food got old. Navigator food was much better. -Our stateroom still had a shower curtain rather than a shower door. Given the tiny size of the shower, this was not a good showering experience. -Our stateroom had a flat screen tv (not all do) but many channels were very dark and hard to watch. -Shows were uninteresting -Solarium got closed for an entire day for maintenance - this was disappointing on a Sept cruise in the Baltic where it was too chilly for the regular pool. -Parts of the ship are really showing its age. Layout/design, railings, walls, floors, pools, etc. It's in need of another refurbishment. -Lots of noise in our stateroom due to being directly off the Centrum. Loud music until wee morning hours. We will likely cruise on RC again, but not the Brilliance unless it gets a MAJOR overhaul like many other RC ships are getting.

Cabin review: Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

E18588
Cabin 8588 is a standard balcony room with an extra large balcony due to being on the "hump". Extra noisy, though, due to being directly off the Centrum area. Loud music every night until wee morning hours. Flat screen tv. Still had a shower curtain (not a door).
