Talk about a "bucket list" trip!. Start in Beijing with all of its history and majesty. On to Xi'an for a visit with the Terracotta army. Then to Tibet (did you ever in your life think you'd get to Tibet?) Walk the path of the Dalai Lamas. On to Chongqing to cruise the Yangste. Visit the 3 Gorges Dam, and a school for children. Finish in Wuhan and amazing Shanghai.
Our tourguide, Richard, became our friend and was a wonderful ambassador for his country. His love of his hometown, Beijing, is obvious. He had to take care of some very difficult passengers, and did so with tact and amazing stamina.
Local guides were friendly and helpful. The hotels alone (Fairmonts in Beijing and Shanghai, Hilton in Xi'an, and the AMAZING St. Regis in Lhasa, were worth the price of the trip themselves!
