My girlfriend and I just came back from our 8 day cruise on the Miracle from NY to San Juan, PR; St Thomas, USVI; & Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos.
Embarkation and debarkation were really easy. No issues at all. No problems sneaking booze on either.
Our room was an aft view extended balcony (Room 7300). The view was great and we will definitely look for this type of room again. The balcony could have been a bit bigger, but the view off the back of the boat was worth it.
The food was above average. We had lobster tails one night and shrimp (which were delicious) a few other nights.
We ate at Nick & Norah's steakhouse which was incredible... Probably the best dining experience Ive ever had. It was so good that we booked it for a second night. It is worth the $35 per person.
The entertainment on board was OK. Nothing special. They did have 4 comedians on board who did shows late nights. They were all pretty good. The shows at night were pretty good as well.
The daytime had a lot of trivia type activities. Although they suffice, there is room for improvement.
The ship itself was nice. The serenity lounge on the back of the boat was great and we spend alot of our time there. The 2 main pools were always filled with little kids. We didn't bother going in them. For all the complaining we read about the seat re-servers, we really had no problem at all at serenity. The other 2 main pools were always crowded though.
San Juan was ok. We ate at the Parrot club which has really good ethnic food, but as for the rest of San Juan, we would be fine not going back.
St Thomas was beautiful. Definitely get to Magens bay if you can. Its one of the top 10 beaches in the world for a reason. A word of warning: the rum punch is only $5 bucs and it goes down way to easy.
Grand turk was nice. Carnival owns the whole resort. While it was nice, you dont really get a flavor for the island. We would do an excursion next time, maybe to Gibbs Cay.
All in all it was a great cruise. I personally like the freestyle dining option of NCL, but the food was by no means bad. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
