Traveled with children

We have cruised with Carnival before and I refuse to cruise with them again. There were rude people cutting into meal lines, running into people, etc. We cruised with our boys, 14, 11, and 5. Disney had many children but most were with their parents who were nearby. Our 14 year old did not like the Vibe, saying the teens in the club were mostly older (16-17 year olds) so he chose to wander on his own or hang out with us adults. Our 11 year old loved the Edge. They had midnight dodgeball and he wouldn't miss it. Our 5 year old enjoyed the Oceaneers Club. In fact, if we could, we'd love to stay in there with him. We didn't get enough time to do all that we wanted because there was so much to do. The dinnertime shows though were taped from previous shows so if we knew that, we'd have stayed and napped to reenergize.

Castaway Cay was clean and organized. My husband and 11 year old went on a fishing excursion and loved the fishes they caught even though it was a catch-and-release. Our son did get a little sea sick during the event. The ships crew members were very helpful and always willing to make our voyage even better. Our cabin hostess was excellent, polite, and welcoming. The next time we do another Disney cruise, we'd avoid the Pirate Night activity on the top deck. There were too many young children with their plastic swords swinging and fighting anyone they thought would join. Their parents seem to be too busy in the show that was going on while we couldn't watch the show, trying to dodge their swords. The crew members did not seem to want to intervene and set limits with the kids. Next time, we'd watch the fireworks from a different deck.

At Nassau, I didn't want to go to Atlantis. It seems that it was the hyped excursion that everyone was going to do, so we chose to go to Blue Lagoon Island for their beach. It was a beautiful beach with clear blue waters. Lunch was included which was nothing special (burgers, chicken breast burger, or hot dogs, fruits and a drink). There was quite a wait for the extra beverages included in this excursion, so you have to call the staff's attention.

Cabin Review

We had a joining room for our family of 5 which is the way we will keep cruising. I loved the idea of having 2 bathrooms and our older sons (11 and 14) were in one room, giving them some privacy.
