We were on the NCL EPIC in June and loved the ship. Going on Carnival only 2 months later was a risk. And even though there were some really nice things on the Miracle, it just couldn't compare with the EPIC.
We really liked leaving from Manhattan because you can get a really nice view of the buildings.
After NY, we were in the middle of the Atlantic ocean until our first stop 2 and a half days later! We had 3 stops and then 2 more days at sea.
On the ship we really liked the Serenity Deck but we had to go early to grab 2 lounge chairs. They are much more comfortable than the lounge chairs you can find around the 2 mail pools. The Serenity Deck has a small pool, spa and a bar. It is also just steps away from the buffet. Great!
There is only one dining room on board and the decor is overwhelming! There are grapes all over the place! Besides the dining room there was the buffet and that was about all the dining options on board! Quite a letdown compared to the EPIC which had 21 different restaurants onboard!
The entertainment was also disappointing. There were no "Blue Man Group" or some big show on board. There were the Carnival dance crew (which were pretty good) but that kind of entertainment was OK 10 years ago but not anymore!
There were also the "Comedy lunch". That is a joke! On US! You have some stand-up comic talking to people and making fun of them for 5 minutes! And then he leaves! WOW! What a waste of time!
The personnel on board were really good at remembering our first names and whenever we were near them they would call us by our first name! That is a really nice touch!
If we go back to Carnival it will have to he on a newer ship (this one dates 2004 but had been refurbished in January 2012). There should be more dining options and hopefully the entertainment will be better.
