Royal Caribbean is NOT what it used to be. RCCL used to be a step above Carnival Cruise Lines, but not any more. There is little to distinguish our most recent cruise from those we have taken on Carnival (and promised never to take a Carnival Cruise again). RCCL has lost a little luster and is now no better than Carnival.
Cabins: Nothing Special
Food: Not entirely tasteless, but infused with some unknown spice or ingredient that seemed to be in every dish. In fact, all the food started to taste the same. Reminded me of Carnival--or Golden Corral.
Cabin: Like any other average Balcony Cabin. Would like at least a reclining chair on the Balcony.
Staff and Crew: Average -- generally friendly.
Passengers: A large and diverse group of people.
Casino: Some very very loose slot machines...but, you gotta find them.
Onboard Selling Pressure: Excessive and annoying
Smoking: Rules not enforced. Lots of smokers. Can smoke in Casino.
Entertainment: Good singers. Boring shows.
Pet peeve: Neighbors balcony lights left on all night!!!!! Prefer ships with no balcony lights (Celebrity)
As "they" say...any cruise is a good cruise, and I tend to go along with that. However, who wants a good cruise, when you can have a fantastic cruise. Next time we will go back to Celebrity.
