My (platonic!) girlfriend and I decided to go on a cruise holiday for some fun and sun - she has cruised many times before, including the inaugural season of the Voyager of the Seas, whereas I was a first-time cruiser. My first impression of the boat was it's size - but even so it was hard to imagine how you could fit so many people and facilities into such a space. Once inside I was very impressed by the condition and opulence of the decor and especially the mall-like promenade and the chandeliered dining room. It was hard to believe we were on a boat.
My friend said she could feel the boat moving quite a lot and felt a little queasy the 1st day however I hardly felt it all - and if I did it was no worse than how you feel after a few glasses of wine ;-)
Our room was a basic inside cabin but for it's size I thought it very well laid out, with excellent use of mirrors and lighting and plenty of storage space. The only time the lack of a window was a problem was when you had to wake up in the morning. It is difficult to get any concept of what time of day it is - we had to be very disciplined with ourselves! We had asked for a twin rather than a double room but the bed had been made up as a double. However our cabin steward Ruby was very helpful and this was rectified before the end of the evening.
