This was our second trip on Destiny. Last was 2009. 5 days from MIA. We are both platinum members on Carnival so we did get some extra service and attention.
Aug 20 to Aug 25-- we missed the stop at Cayman, which was the main reason we went on this trip. The weather was bad so tendering was out at this port. Nothing the crew could do about it-- many passengers seemed to blame them for the NO stop.
The ship was very clean. Staff was fantastic. The 60+ cruise we have been on, in all honesty, the staffing, room attendant and dining staff have been fantastic. The customer service desk, in our opinion, on many cruise lines, are in need of more training. Hate to say but i think their motto is-- get the customer away from the counter at all costs and quickly. They think the problem is resolved if the customer is not in front of them. I can say you don't see many happy faces leaving that counter.
2 items on this cruise that caused us problems: #1 Internet not working, since we cruise a lot we need to stay in contact with office-- this ship network was the worst. #2 Carnival policy--- per the helpful staff at front desk-- we don't take US Postal money orders-- will take travelers checks (go figure) but not postal money--- which is as good as cash according to the US Treasury.
Only Stop Ocho Rio--- why would any company take people to this hole Jamaica?
