We just came home from a 5 day disaster on the Glory. We have sailed Carnival many times before and had been nothing but pleased. Its been less than 6 months since our last Carnival cruise on the Miracle and that was wonderful, so we didn't figure they would have forgotten how this cruise thing works in that short of time.
First off many crew members were openly rude. The Lido buffet was disgraceful at best, cold food, no plates, searching for silverware and napkins(getting bad attitude when asking for them, terrible lines all times of day due to lack of full food trays and people waiting for dishes etc. It seemed that Carnival decided that entertainment was no longer important. The 2 shows that were put on by they Glory dancers were out of sink at best. They had 2 comedians on board for the whole cruise but they only performed on 2 nights. The Casino manager stated "that's great more business for us" when asked about the lack of other entertainment. In the main dinning room (Golden deck 3 anytime) the tables had dirty glasses on two nights, dirty silverware, and the orders were served with errors every night including the last night when we waited over 1 hour between appetisers and the main course.
We couldn't use the hot tubs in Serenity the "adult only retreat" they were constantly loaded with kids of all ages, not to mention the hammocks and chairs were occupied by kids also. Our account was shut off twice from computer glitches at guest services which created long lines to fix the problem. We were in a grand suite the television was broken from the mounting bracket, we found Fun times magazines under the couch cushions from May and June, these came in handy though to hold tv in an upright position. This was not a new contract crew so this should have been a much better run cruise. Never again will we go on this ship and we may not go with Carnival again.
Great cabin location and the size of it was perfect. TV mount was broken
