We stayed in Harwich at the Premier Inn, very convenient for port, not so much for town. But had a good stay and good breakfast. Had lunch in town at the Pier Hotel, fish and chips!
Got a taxi around 11AM, checked right in and onto ship. Windjammer for lunch ( good, but rarely eat there, too many other good choices). Cabins where ready by 1:30, luggage was already there.
Had an informal meet and mingle for sail away at the sky bar, nice to meet some people we have bee writing with on cruise critic!
We had a balcony room on deck 8, good location, great size and wonderful room attendant, Rachel.
Dinner was late. 8:30, waiter Arnold and assistant Socorro were wonderful. Table mates were three couples, two who traveled together and one that decided after three nights they didn't like the late time. The six other of us had a wonderful time, and spent other time together also. Meals were varied and we had no problem finding wonderful things to eat! Escargot was available-love that!
Ate at the Seaside Cafe a number of times for late afternoon snacks after a long port day. Did not eat at any of the pay restaurants, did not feel a need to.
Enjoyed the Solarium pool and spa and the sauna in the Spa. Did not do the climbing wall or play golf this trip.
Casino donations were small, but did win a tee shirt and key ring with my free pulls.
Enjoyed the Latitudes coffee shop, 50% off sale at the shops for Russian calendars, husband got a new gold by the inch necklace (I got two free bracelets), entertainment shows OK, some better than others. Russian dancers were great! Hollywood bar almost empty always. Trivia games were fun, even tho we didn't win anything this time-one on the fun places to meet other cruisers!Meet and mingle party was on the first sea day, a lot showed up, but some didn't. I won the first of 3 raffle prizes, very nice RCCL goodies! Tried to meet up with our St Petersburg tour, but didn't find anyone in our group ( there where 3 different groups). Had a great time meeting more of our fellow roll callers!
Departure was as easy as embarkation.
Had a GREAT cruise, never cold or rainy! (brought too many cold weather clothes, but one never knows what the weather will be)
