This was our 5th cruise with Royal Caribbean and, once again, we thoroughly enjoyed it and will return in the future. Overall this was probably the best we have had with them.
For example, we left our hotel in Cocoa Beach at 1030 and were on board eating in the Windjammer at 1130. Certainly a new land to sea speed record!
The shows were the best we have seen so far with Dominic Allen of Foreigner fame; the Royal Caribbean singers were the best - especially with the "Once Upon a Time" show; the ice skaters were the best we have seen with their show; and most notably for us was the Piano Man Kory Simon in the Schooner Bar. He was absolutely fantastic and it is worth "Googling" him to learn more about him. Kory was the most engaging and talented performer we have experienced.
This was our first cruise to the Eastern Caribbean with St. Thomas and St. Martin. We had a very relaxing time and took wonderful photos for our memories. One excursion we loved in St. Martin was the "Captain Morgan" sail and snorkel. The crew was great and our son really liked the swimming/snorkeling. One item our son was disappointed in was the teen programs on this ship. He was really spoiled with last year's Monarch of the Seas program and he didn't think that the Freedom of the Seas staff met the bar they set for our cruise last year.
Our intent for this cruise was to relax and not feel the need to hit every main dining time or to do any formal nights. We accomplished our goal and had a great time just relaxing.
Leslie, our cabin attendant, was fantastic and Maria, in the Schooner Bar, was the best. We highly recommend this trip for anyone and we are already planning a trip in the future for the Med or a Transatlantic.
