This was our very first internet based holiday and we are all pleased to say that it has turned out to be a marvelous experience. The JoS is simply a magical ship and all the stories about the effects of having large glass planes all around turned out to be very true. They do have a magical effect. All staff compliment were really nice and welcoming especially the dining room staff and the room attendants. Whoever is soon boarding this vessel, ask for Carlos the waiter - and you will be ensuring the provision of optimum service.

The itinerary on this Scandinavia and Russia 12 night cruise was simply magical and one really cannot pick out an outstanding port of call. They were all so interesting. All I can say is that they are all worth a visit !!! For history lovers, St Petersburg is a MUST GO location and for nature lovers, well, this whole cruise is a MUST GO. The shore excursion we attended were interesting. Russia based excursions were booked with a Russian travel agency (TJ Tours) - these turned out to be a huge success as we were well taken care of.

There was just one minor mishap. Please do check whether traveling irons are allowed on board. I had one as I had found no contrary indications prior to departure, but this was confiscated once on board the vessel. Apart from this, my very first experience in dealing with Royal Caribbean was indeed a good one and full of memories which we will all treasure for many years to come.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Comfortable cabin but with not much space for luggage sorting out. Expected better accomodation for the 3rd person in our group (my 15 year old daughter) who had to sleep on a 'first floor' extendable bed above the main double bed. In compensation the balcony was quite spacious and we had magnificent views. We stayed in cabin 8582. No worries with cabin cleanliness - our assigned room attendant was simply great.
