Just returned from a seven day Bermuda cruise. It was wonderful. The ship, while not new was in good shape and the staff was top notch. Many passengers were disappointed that HAL is not returning to Hamilton Bermuda Again. They said that they took this cruise annually. No doubt docking in Hamilton is much preferable to Dockyard. The whole experience was one of enjoyment, relaxation and pampering. Were there any problems- YES- THE BAD -While our late dining experience was perfect, anytime dining is not appropriate for this ship as it has a dining room designed for fixed seating. Actually, many people had dinner at 8PM as they waited an hour for seating in anytime dining. They would have been better off at fixed time. The advantage of getting to know your wait staff and they you is always rewarding. The Lido was not a great experience for us. Plates were in short supply and located behind the counter so you had to beg for them.We couldn't understand why.
THE GOOD- Entertainment was top notch! The best talent we have seen in years. The dining room food was good to excellent and the choices were extensive. THE INDONESIAN AND FILIPINO STAFF_ absolutely the BEST in the Industry! All of the other nations represented did as well.
All in all HAL delivers a fine , refined, low key product designed for most people (even the young people were having a great time). Do consider them for other cruises.
Farewell from NY to HAL. We'll miss you.
