Cabin: Inside Twin Cabin

Sailed out from Southampton 28/07/2012,the car parking was well organised, and checked in at the Mayflower terminal went pretty smooth.Once on board directed straight to the conservatory buffet, and told that the ship was still been prepared.First impressions wow, nice ship.We embarked at 1200 and luggage arrived at approx 1500 to our cabin D108 on deck8 port side close to the front of the ship.Cabin was best described as functional but dated, decor bland and in need of upgrade, but enough room.Bathroom was again small, with an orange old fashioned glow from the plastic fittings. The toilet flush had a mind of its own,and flushed occasionally,or when it felt like.During the night it would flush without command, quite strange, but sometimes unnerving.Safety drill at 1700 in harlequin's , quite a farce with everybody fighting for room.

Moving on we were on 1830 sitting in the peninsular restaurant, all in all good food, but nothing special, and the service quite poor, apart from the last couple of nights, tip time approaching.During Breakfast and lunch we would challenge ourself to the battlefield of the conservatory, please sharpen your elbows,as this is dog eat dog.A joke really as the food was ok.Themed evenings were good and sorrento (italian) was worth a visit at a supplement.

Excursions a total rip off.DO YOUR OWN THING.Bergen and Olden good,Stavanger, poor in our opinion,Norway really expensive 9 quid a pint.Ship in general well maintained, but constant work/repairs done at sea.A complete floor section was replaced over three days at sea outside my cabin. No warning and no apologies.Fumes, noise, dust,a total disgrace, the deck manager and reception just said essential repairs beyond their control. The ship was only three quarter full,so alternative cabins were available, only at a supplement,an absolute joke.

Small and practical.Dated decor,and no interactive tv.Cleaning standards poor,sofa stained,carpet frayed.Outside cabins no larger.
