Ship Facts: Island Escape Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Island Escape Deck Plans
For a first cruise this was Spot On!
The ship itself was informal and very friendly and spotlessly clean. Where ever you looked there were people tidying and cleaning. The ship is not the height of luxury, but what it lacked in style it made up for in the friendly atmosphere.

All the staff were amazing- nothing was too much trouble and everything was very well organised. The restaurant staff were attentive and very welcoming, our room steward (Raja) worked incredibly hard but always had a smile on his face and the entertainment staff were great and worked hard everyday.

We had decided to treat ourselves and book one of the deluxe balcony rooms. When we arrived on the boat we were not disappointed. The room was a lovely size for 3 adults and the balcony was big. It was amazing waking up each morning and sliding open the patio doors to see a new place. This cruise was a lovely mix of relaxation and sightseeing.

We went on two booked excursions to Hercalaneum and Rome, both were very well organised, the guides very knowledgeable and the trips were worth the money.

The food on the ship was excellent, we loved the afternoon tea! We ate every night in the Island Restaurant where there was always plenty to chose from with numerous themed nights!

There was no dress code and no fancy suits and evening gowns, but people did take the opportunity to get smartly dressed which was really nice as it is something we like to do.

The only downside of the ship was the small pool area and lack of sunbeds, however we made full use of our balcony.

The all inclusive pacakage was excellent with a good choice of drinks and the bar service was very efficient- even when busy never waited long to be served.

We had a fantastic holiday and we are still talking about how much we enjoyed it! If you are looking for a laid back, non pretentious cruise then I would definiely recommend the island Escape!
