Lots to see and do, attractive old town.  Very hilly but there are elevators if you look for them.  Lovely views from the tops of hills

Monaco (Monte Carlo)

We visited in July and our advice is - don't!!  Incredibly busy, unable to walk on footpaths, people spilled over onto road.  lots of souvenir shops and overpriced brands.  Didnit enjoy it but that maybe because it was too hot and too crowded - probably better on cooler day out of season

Saint-Tropez

We have visited Florence and Pisa before and decided it was too hot and would be too busy in August so we stayed in Livorno.  Not a lot to see, but quite a nice walk around an area of canals and old buildings (known as Venice).  Benefit that it was quiet and there were some nice old buildings, particularly the fort.

Florence (Livorno)

Wonderful views from the bay where the cruise ship moored - you can see cliffs and hills all around.  Pretty tender ride from ship to shore, then shuttle to top of hills or a steep walk.  The town is quite pretty in a touristy way - lots of shops with nice leather goods and lemon products - attractive cathedral and pleasant narrow streets and shady squares.  Good idea to walk down to the port to allow you excellent views of the bay.

Sorrento

Lovely mooring point in the bay surrounded by hills and cliffs with views of Tairmina and Mt Etna.  We moored and tendered into. Naxos and had to take a taxi up to Taormina.  If you do this, make sure the taxi takes the scenic route - wonderful views as you wind up to town.  Tarmona is beautiful - one long main street with fine old houses and churches.  Also, vist the Roman amphitheatre - great ruins with spectacular views of the coast and the bay where your ship is moored

Taormina (Messina)

We have visited Corfu before and last time took a tour of the countryside - well worth doing as it is hilly, green, flowery, and with great views.  Achilleion Palace is beautiful and has an interesting history attached.  This time we took a shuttle into Corfu town and just explored.  The town has lovely churches and attractive though shabby buildings.  It also has nice tourist shops with good bargains in bags and souvenirs.  The best place to visit is the Old Fort which has interesting buildings and fabulous views on all sides

Corfu

Crowds, crowds, crowds.  The town is very lovely with lots and lots to see.  But it also has too many tourists.  Ours was one of 4 boats, 3 of them really large, and it meant about 10000 people were visiting a town made for less than half of that.  Combined with hot hot days, it was OK when it should have been sensational.

Recommendations are to come early and leave early.  Also, walk around the fort in the harbour to the other side where it is a bit quieter.

Dubrovnik

What can you say.  In spite of the heat and the crowds, it is still the most beautiful unique place in the world.  Wonderful buildings, beautiful sights.  Our recommendation would be the Vaporetto dell Arte boats - much less busy then the normal vaporetti and they visit the main points on the Grand Canal.  We just cruised up and down and avoided the crowds.  The Arsenale district and also the walk along the Guidecca have lovely building and views and are much less crowded than other areas.  A trip to Burano is well worthwhile - amazing coloured houses along littel canals full of boats - truly amazing.

Venice

Well furnished and decorated, nice bed, spacious balcony.  Tiny tiny bathroom - you has to sit partly sideways on the toilet, smallest shower I have every used!!

Nothing was too much problem and the one or two times we had small issues they were dealt with quickly and with no fuss.Negatives:-
Small bathroom with tiny shower so you were constantly touching the wall or the shower curtain - we spoke to one man who just used the whole bathroom as shower cubicle to make it usable and we were tempted to follow suit!!
