Baltic cruise on Balmoral
Just returned yesterday from 14 night Cruise on Balmoral to the Baltics.
We had an outside cabin which was ok size wise but we found the beds to be uncomfortable and the location noisy. The cabin itself was clean and had good storage. however we noticed some small changes to past FO cruises, there were no complimentary toiletries bags, and we did feel the standard of food was not as good as it has been i.n the past.
although some waiters in restaurant were excellent we found ours to be a bit slow at times. we do appreciate that they are busy. and made busier on this cruise when after 9 days sailing all self service was stopped and other changes made due to outbreak of norovirus on the ship, this really put us off as there was a really bad bout of it when we were on the Boudicca once before.
I have to question why FO ships seem to have outbreaks of it more than other ships.anyone know why?
The ship itself appeared to be clean apart from palms cafe, which we More found to be lacking, especially around the self serve tea area. not enough tea spoons and what they had was very grubby.
the show group we really enjoyed and also the comedian, but the duo and the female singer were not to our liking at all. but we know that is personal taste.
The entertainment team we found to be great hard working bunch and very pleasant.
check in took longer than we expected as did muster drill.
The best bits were the ports of call, they were great, we really enjoyed them all and were blessed with fantastic weather. Less
