Well done Celebrity Equinox

Sail Date: July 2012
Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean
Embarkation: Other

What a great cruise.
Equinox is a fantastic ship and we were impressed right from boarding.
An easy checkin, followed by drinks, fresh wet towels, smiles galore.
We boarded and were handed a glass of sparkling wine. Knowing our rooms were not ready, we went directly to the buffet restaurant for great fresh food and friendly staff.
The staff were helpful, clean, friendly and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble and they make it seem like they want to be there.
We have sailed with Celebrity before and knew what to expect but feel Equinox staff were even more on the ball.
This time we opted for Aqua Class and were not disappointed. Close to the spa, it was easy to navigate around the ship. We were also impressed with Blu, it was nice to eat at whatever time we desired and not have to dine with 2000 other people. We also made use of the specialty restaurants which were all great and well worth the extra money.
Going Aqua Class meant we didnt need to take a More dinner suit, a jacket and tie was more than sufficient.
Equinox staff were well organised and great at getting information to us. It was easy organising tours and finding where we were supposed to be. The staff were fantastic and extremely well selected. Well done Less

Acropolis

Too much time left at Plaka for Shopping, but otherwise a great informative tour. If travelling in peak summer take the earliest tour to the Acropolis to allow for the high temperatures

If you want a carpet, this is the place to be. However, I really should have booked a tour and missed out on a lot of experiences. Be prepared to be hassled by shop owners

Easy to get around Mykonos. A great place to visit and walk through. Would have liked Celebrity to offer something different like a Quadbike tour.

Whilst the architecture is beautiful in Naples, it is a dangerous town with plenty of pickpockets and beggars, however I did notice a much stronger police presence this visit.

Lindos Walking Tour

Great tour to one of the most beautiful destinations. Loved Lindos and its history. Very impressed

Rome is one of the most fascinating, beautiful energetic cities of Europe. There is something for everyone and always more to see each visit.

Fira is a beautiful destination and easy to get around. We took the cable car up to the top then the bus to OIA. This is a lovely town to walk around but in peak holiday period, very difficult to leave as the busses are filled very quickly with pushing people. THe bus companies have no system when it comes to boarding or departing the bus and it becomes a very dangerous exercise. Time for them to put in a queue system and to stop the pushing and shoving. Often if there are several ships tendered, the line to the cable car can be extremely long. The alternative is to walk down the donkey track which takes about 1/2 an hour. be warned that the track is slippery and extremely smelly.

A great little town, with plenty to see and do. We organised our own taxi and had a great day. Food, views and history all there for a lovely visit.
