Just got back. This is our first cruise, so my review will focus on the ship rather than ports. Overall we had great time. A real beauty and well maintained ship. Everyone always greeted us with a smile, seemed glad to see us and offered to help in any way. We had a full ship, but never felt crowded.
Embark-we got to the pier at 3:30 and walked right on. I would recommend that you arrive a day early and enjoy the ship for a full day. We had cabin 1100, a JS on deck 10. What a cabin, we are spoiled for life. The veranda is 15x23. A walk in closet that held our 3 suit cases with room to spare. A pull out couch, chair and ottoman. Very roomy and comfortable. Akil, kept our room spotless and made great towel animals too. We would love to have him on any cruise, always a smile. Room service was prompt as well.
FOOD-lots of it. The Windjammer always had something, but I must say that some of the food was not always hot, RCI needs to do something to keep the food in the trays HOT. Tides is a beauty, out waiter Joko, always made sure my food was served HOT. Steaks were tender, lamb chops moist and drinks always filled, thanks to Guyla, our assist. waiter. Our son was given the option to order off the main menu or a special children's menu. The staff were always ready to please. Some negatives-despite a dress code they let guests in with take tops and jeans. This truly ruins a nice evening. It also was bit noisy at times. Seaview cafe-a hidden jewel-no pun. We had lunch there many times. Just eating a ruben, burger and watching the waves. great onion rings and shakes( which should be free, not a $4.25 charge)Solarium-a great place for a crepe and a dip in the pool. Didn't do Chops or Portofino's...but heard that despite a age requirement of 13...they let a family in with a screaming baby..what a ruined meal I thought.
