First Princess & Alaskan cruise for me & wife. Wife's sister also joined us, her second, for a flight into Anchorage and five days of self-touring the area before a bus transfer to Whitter and boarding. Were dropped off right at the dock and was on ship within the hour with no problems. Stayed on Dolphin deck in a mini-suite which was plenty of space for the three of us. Outside balcony was great for viewing wildlife and snow covered mountains sailing through the passages. Had early seating in the dinning room which worked good for attending shows and early too bed for busy days. Food in the dining room was OK, but I would only give it average at best. The buffet was just as good and sometimes better for dinner as we ate there for breakfast and lunch with snacks throughout the day & evening.

Skagway we rented a car for a drive up to Canada which went really well. There are limited amount of cars available and would plan ahead if this is for you. Juneau we did whale watching with a private company on a small boat, there were five of us, which was the high-lite of the trip. Self guided tour in Ketchikan which was also easy as they have a free bus that loops around the tourist area. Disembarkation was easy in Vancouver as we carried our luggage off for a transfer to the rental car agency and drive down to Seattle.

A few pointers, rental car rates in Anchorage are cheaper downtown versus airport due to taxes. Our first time with Princess and missed the 24 hour ice cream that we had on Carnival. Scenic trip on The Alaskan Railroad down to Seward was great for viewing wildlife and snow covered mountains. Overall "Great" time as we had very little rain and can't wait to go back.

Cabin Review

Cabin AD

Room was big enough for three adults or family of four. Balcony was great for viewing wildlife and lush land.
