North Atlanitc Cruise , Le Harve, Brugge, Norway

Sail Date: July 2012
Destination: Baltic & Northern Europe
Embarkation: Amsterdam

Took a five day from Amsterdam to Copenhagen with stops at Brugge, Le Harve and Kristionsand (Norway)

The ship is a nice 10 year old ship. We found the crew and the wait staff very friendly. Big ship where there were all kinds of options from the cheezy bar and disco to a very nice "cigar bar" Also the nice bar all around and then public gathering center where you can hang out on the three floor above looking down.

Did the my time dining and the food was fine. As my wife said, an above average nice wedding seating dinner. Buffet was hit or miss but over all pretty good. Not many "late night" dining options.

Had a nice salt water pool and an open pool with hot tubs etc. Spa was nice. again 4 out of 5 is about right will all things concerning this ship.

In Le Harve we rented cars and went to the Normandy sights. Brugge stay was not long enough but we took the shuttle back and forth from the port to the city. Kistionsand was a quaint little town but not More much to do there.

Again, liked the boat and was nice "floating" hotel to get us to our places we wanted to go. Less

Port and Shore Excursions

spent three day there before getting on the boat.

great little town. wished we had more time there. Because the boat docks in Zeebrugge, 45 min away, we felt rushed to make it back to the ship

Paris is a good two hours away so we rented cars at the port (Rent-a-Car) and drove to the d-day sights. Do it! Driving in this part of France is easy. We had a gps and drove along the coast and had time to see four sights plus drive into Beyaux. the drive is only about an hour to Omaha Beach. So easy, everyone on the boat was jealous they did not do that. Bus tours are nice but if you do a little research you can pull it off yourself. We took back roads to the sights and the main roads back to Le Harve.
