Our first river cruise was long awaited, and we were not disappointed from the reception as we boarded the beautiful Idun in Budapest to the tearful good by in Amsterdam, Viking was family, and cared for us as such.our cabin was lovely, a state of the art design with ample storage for everything, a large shower..a great surprise, and loved our veranda . Dining was lovely, ample servings, service very good, waiters tried so hard to make all happy.

The tours were well thought out, and for the most part, guides were well versed in English and the history of the ports we were in. It was so good of Viking to have leisure tours at most ports for those who did not walk well on more lengthy tours. The weather was good, for the most part, a few rain showers, but otherwise did not dampen our enjoyment. The upper deck was great when open, but sometimes low bridges kept them closed, so we enjoyed our veranda instead with a favorite beverage,

We loved the aqua terrace for a light lunch or just touring down the river, a great design? The public spaces were inviting to conversation with fellow cruisers or just curl up with a good book and watch the towns go by. We will definitely book with Viking again to enjoy this class of service and experience in Europe.

Cabin Review

Cabin Va

Good layout , comfortable bed, ample storage, quiet location, nice veranda and views of towns, river, bath well planned, good shower space, convenient location to dining, access for tours easy from this location, liked that we were one floor up from dining, and one floor down for deck access. Dining room was noisy as we all dined at same time, lots of conversation, found that round tables against windows were best for views of tons and river as we cruised.
