We recent arrived home from a trip wi carnival on the breeze 27th June to 9th july.
We was really shockedat how many children, teanages that was on the ship, i think a quarter of the guests were under 18. The ship was ok, nothing spectacular. The food was average. We was at the back of the ship and had asked for anytime dinning. But we did not know that the restaurant for anytime dinning was at the front of the ship so it was a long walk just to go to eat of a night unless we wished to use the Lido bar. There was no chance of getting a sun bed near the pools as people were putting towels on them at 6 am in the morning. We know this as you could see them in your room on the tv viewing cameras. We thought this was not going to happen as they say there is a 30 minute time if the beds are not used then the towels taken off. This never happened at all. And some people not only too a sunbed but also chairs and tables so at times, just forget it you could not get a seat. The adults only sun bathing area was just the same perhaps even worst.
Our cabin steward came in on our first day and gave us a big story of how he had not seen his family for 7 months and how much he missed them etc etc. He made us feel guilty that he was working there. He also walked into our cabin without knocking 3 times. On two occasions we was not dressed and getting ready to go out, so we was not pleased so after this we locked our door from the inside.
The bathroom glass shelves were not cleaned the whole 12 days ?.
Also there was repeated stuff coming over the loud speakers trying to get you to go to the shops and buy stuff.
Or to buy the trips.
And funny also there was a so called family late 3 days in a row back to the ship. If this family exsisted who knows, since we have read on other sights that the same thing was suppose to have happened on their cruise. We think this was to frighten you to not do the trips on your own but to take their trips.also on the last daythey kept on about how good the staff had been and that we should tips them extra even though we had already done this on the sale and sign card, but no they wanted more.
But what really pissed us off was the fact that the cabin man actually went into our sale and sign part on the tv and looked at what we had spent. This we thought was a private matter.
Butthe worst is yet to come. We booked this cruise a year in advance, we paid a deposit and booked our cabing etc and carnival say if you do this then you will not get it cheaper, and if you see it cheaper they will re imburse you the difference. Well the price went down three times and we had to contact carnival to get the refund, which yes we did get, but on the last advert when the price went down it said that there was also an onboard credit of 200 dollars. We did not say anything before we went as we thought we would get it when we got on board. But no, and we had to print off the email to prove this, and they just kept saying they were looking into it. Since the cruise we have contacted carnival and have been passed from one department to another. We are still waiting from a response from the american part of carnival offices. But we are not holding our breath on getting this. We do not want it added to our next cruise which is what we was expecting them to say as the discount was on the cruise we took. We very much doubt we will go on another cruise with carnival.
