Ship Facts: Norwegian Jade Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Norwegian Jade Deck Plans
Pleasantly surprised by Jade
Have just returned from an 8 day cruise on the Jade.Last yr we did the Epic and as this is an older ship we didn't have really high expectations,esp after reading the reviews.But we liked the destinations.

Well we were pleasantly surprised!Flew from gatwick to Venice then boarded ship,all went well.The ship is spotlessly clean(and I'm very fussy),and the inside cabin was spacious and nice.One word of advice we were in 8553 and its right above a noisy bar so I would def avoid that cabin!

First day at sea,then Corfu town which was OK.then Santorini which was glorious,we took the cable car up 5 euro each(watched some people go up on a donkey in scorching heat which was very sad to see),then Mykonos was was another beautiful stop,loved it.

Last stop was Izmir in Turkey which was a disappointment because unless you go on an excursion there isn't much there.

The weather for the whole cruise was very hot and there were other ships in all the ports we visited so it was busy in all of them.

Now the ship;

Food is OK ish. We did have a steak in Cagney's which was very good and dined in the Asian which was again ok sh.These had a surcharge.The buffet was quite good if a bit crowded and there was a BBQ every day.So food was plentiful if a little bland and repetitive in the main restaurants.didn't get to the Japanese as was booked early but everyone who did raved about it,and there are windows you can look through to see it all.

What we mostly liked about this cruise was the entertainment,karaoke,singers,shows and a nice theatre.We were disappointed with the epics,so this was a nice surprise.

Although we avoided our UK school holidays there were quite a few children from other countries on board,it didn't bother me but several other guests complained about the noise.

Disembarking was quick and efficient and we had a taxi booked to take us to airport.Venice airport was a nightmare,don't know if its always like that or because several ships returned,but it seemed like thousands of people.

All in all enjoyed the jade,its not so classy as some ships but a nice atmosphere and plenty of everything.

Would go on it again in the future but not the ismir itenary.be warned everything is expensive.........
