For everyone that is considering a cruise on the Carnival Valor and have read any negative comments about the ship, IGNORE IT!! This was my 3rd cruise. We have also been on Royal Caribbean as well. here's a little break down of how it went.
Embarkation: We flew to Miami the day before the cruise and stayed at the Embassy suites. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Nice rooms, excellent resturants and free "drinks" from 5pm to 7pm for those who enjoy adult beverages. The breakfeast was good, made to order omlettes and several other selections. We arrived at the port around 10:30am and was onboard by 11:30am exploring the ship.
Cruise: The cruise itself was great. Entertainment all day everyday. The food was good quality. Equivelant to golden corral or your average buffet. The steak house (Scarlett's) was excellent!! Well worth the $35 per person. Shows were great. The magician also put on a great show. Our room was always cleaned while we were out, we never had any complaints about our room stewart. I have read reviews about the food being served cold in the dining room. NEVER came across that, not one time. The deli and pizza stations were great for a quick snack. The noodle bar was also great but the lines were often very long. The ONLY complaint that I would have about the whole trip was that my son was looking forward to getting on the slide every chance he could but for some reason the slide was closed a lot during the cruise. Everytime we inquired about it they said the water was being tested. other than that, it was a great cruise, no complaints about the ship itself, the ship was very clean and the service was great. The staff was very friendly and always spoke when passing by. Very well worth the money.
