Ship Facts: Monarch of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Monarch of the Seas Deck Plans
Please save your money
Please save your money..go to a beach, lake or anywhere but this ship. My husband and I sailed with family on this ship 7-16-12 to 7-20-12. Terrible from beginning to end. I don't normally write these reviews but I am trying to save someone from wasting their money. Let me begin by saying we are well traveled. Not too picky or pretentious..just normal people. Our expectations were lowered as we knew this would be an old ship.

With that being said..the food is horrible..if you like a low end Shoney's then this is for you. By the last day I couldn't stand the smell of it any longer. We experienced motion sickness the first night..never had that happen. The staff is very rude. Most cannot speak English fluently. Our cabin steward was very accomodating but the rest of the staff act as though they are forced to be on the ship. Please find another job.

Expect to be nickeled and dimed for everything including internet. The ship has wi-fi but expect to pay $.65 per minute to use it. No activities for kids. Four arcade games that look like they came out of the 80's a rock wall and a basketball court. The shows were corny. Please find decent entertainment or dont offer it.

My husband wanted to be left in Nassau so he wouldn't have to get back on board. We enjoyed the excursion at CoCo Cay and our day in Nassau. My brother's room flooded and his family had to be split. They told him giving him another cabin that split his family was the best they could do. Then they offered him a bathrobe for his inconvenience. Are you serious? Offer the man a credit on board or at least apologize. I know most of you will not believe how bad this was for us but please think about cruising on another ship or fly to the Bahamas..better yet just stay home and spend your money at the mall or a local lake..
