After ten years of marriage we decided to renew our vows and take a 14 day vacation. This is the longest vacation that I have ever taken, and it was well worth it.

Non-Cruise Stuff: We spent our first 5 nights at Hyatt Place North Charleston, SC on Mayzck Rd. Great Hotel only about 15 min from downtown Charleston, SC. Well worth the drive to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy side of the city. (This was our 3rd trip to the city, we visit every 5 years).Got a great deal on a taxi to the cruise terminal $50 rt including $5 tip each way for two people from Derrick @ Charleston Taxi Cab 843-343-6274.We ended our vacation at the National Harbor in Oxon Hills, MD @ the Aloft room 803.Fantastic Hotel, Fantastic room!

CRUISE STUFF: We booked online with Carnival about 3 weeks out. We decided since we would be in Charleston, SC & we have never cruise out of that port,we would go ahead and take a cruise to the Bahamas on the Fantasy. Understand that our More first two experiences on CARNIVAL were not favorable & we reluctantly booked. We booked an inside cabin that seemed twice the size of the stateroom of the inside on the RCCL-Monarch of the Seas.

Boarding. Although you have to ride a shuttle (3 min ride) to the cruise port. We stood in line to board the ship. It moved quite fast about a 10 min wait for a "full house". (SN: I hate lines. it's worth going on a few more cruises to become a gold member so I will not have to stand in long lines again-10 min is too long for me.) We did have to walk up stairs (after taking pictures) and up a long ramp as well. The ship boards into the Promenade right at the 21st Century Bar. Several people were standing around with "ASK ME" shirts & we were directed to our stateroom.

STATEROOM: Adequate for two adults. As I states above much larger interior room for than other cruise lines. Shower, sink Toilet all worked great nothing broken. Two twin beds into a queen. As always a "hump" in the bed, but you can work around it to "snuggle". Plenty of space for storage.

DINING: All is well in this department. Basic Mass Market ship food.

MY FAVORITE PLACE: Serenity Lounge

This ship does not show her age, and is just wonderful for a cruise to the Bahamas. Less
