cruised out of Bayonne to Bermuda on the Summit...Have cruised on Celebrity, RCCL,Princess ,Norwegian and Carnival...Always felt cruising was a great family vacation, and or, romantic getaway for 2...as was the case this trip...Great to drive to the port, not worry about weight of baggage, or airlines/airports. Bermuda is a beautiful place, and have visited many times... The Summit has made an effort to improve their food quality, choices at dinner, and meals were enjoyable...the staff is always helpful and cheery.
The lunches were the only blah eating experiences. Qsine was phenomenal and fun..a must try. Our cabin was lovely with a large balcony, steward was good and promptly took care of all our requests.
The cruise days were interesting as they now watch the chairs poolside, and if left unattended for 30 minutes they will remove your belongings and allow another cruiser to utilize the chairs...Actually a good thing because people tend to over reserve chairs for families in the sun and in the shade, monopolizing claim to unused chairs..I just would hate to be the pool butler or officer involved...
The entertainment was varied and good..An excellent spanish guitar player, Nestor and a great violinist/jazz Doug Cameron..as well as the usual poolside bands and piano players..
Very nice getaway with the wife, thoroughly enjoyed the Summit and the changes which seem to be occurring in the food department...Celebrity remains one of our favorites...
