Disney Does It Right

Sail Date: July 2012
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

Cannot say enough about the Dream's crew. I have never seen a harder working group of individuals dedicated to making everyone's experience a great one. especially want to note those involved in the entertainment from the different shipboard activities to the evening shows were so very professional but then it is Disney.
ok individual notes re the cruise. can't stress enough that you should pre register as soon as you can and get as early boarding time as possible. disney says that 1 pm is the official get on board time but if the ship clears you get on sooner. we were enjoying a great buffet lunch at 11:40 and hitting the aqua duck soon after!
breakfast and lunch buffets were great but was somewhat disappointed in some dinner selections. you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and putting fancy terms to describe dinner selections does not make them better. maybe i should have made a different selection.
very minor thing the fireworks did not seem as spectacular More as those we saw on the Wonder.
cabin was great lots of space once we got all the baggage stowed. trust me you will over pack and not wear all you take.
Important point if you book activities at the Atlantis note that the time given is the time you meet on the ship not the activity time. We were not able to take advantage of what the Atlantis had to offer because we had to get back to the ship. book off shore activities early. Castaway Cay - get off the ship early and stake your claim for a place on the beach. Get your courage up and go para sailing yes i'm 70+ and wife 60+ did it and loved it and we would do it again! Great lunch served there. Cruise with two days at Castaway is not overkill. Less

Port and Shore Excursions

Para sailing a great experience very professional boat crew may look scary but once you do it you will be glad you did. yes, wife and I would do it again in a heart beat. Swim with the stingrays - grandson loved it. these gentle creatures swim up to you and like the interaction with people. this is not something you get to do on other cruises and you will be glad you took advantage of this castaway cay adventure

Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim

(5)
There are two dolphin activities. the one we did did not include swimming with dolphins but was more of a meet and great these animals. for what it was intended, it was a good experience.
