Cabin: Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

First cruise in nine years, our second with HAL. Cabin was spacious and well appointed for a cruise ship. Cabin service was excellent.

We selected second seating and fortunate to have table for two, became acquainted with peaple at nearby tables. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. If very good service and name recognition are important to you, I strongly suggest set seating rather than open. We used the Lido only for lunch. Lots of choices and food was usually tasty. However, the aisles between food areas and seating are sometimes quite crowded. You have people actually obtaining food, others trying to see what is available, employees carrying various items on trays and it is a connection between adult pool and family pool. We always had room service for breakfast and food arrived within five minutes of requested time.

Adult pool really seemed to be for adults, with minimal hogging of the lounge chairs. If you do not need to be near pool, use the next upper deck which had lounge chairs and relatively few people. There is a very small upper deck in forward section of ship with a few lounge chairs and a great view.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VB

Room was spacious with a king size bed and full sofa. Bathrooms included a bath tub and a separate shower. Patio was quit large with a table and chairs and two separate lounge chairs. We were on the starboard size mid-ship. We were close to the elevators and stair way. Noise was not a problem.
