This was my 8th cruise,my 2nd on Princess. The food was very good which played
a large part in my enjoyment of the the cruise. I missed the coffee shop on the Caribbean Princess with their excellent beignets and other pastries. No coffee shop on Sea Princess. The variety of items offered for sale on the ship was not very good so I was disappointed in not having more things to tempt me.The ship is
a medium sized one which I liked because most times I could just walk in 5 minutes ahead of a performance at the theatre. I had anytime dining because I was on the wait list for a 6pm dining. I usually went to dinner at 8pm to avoid the waiting . With most shiplines pushing the specialty dining it was wonderful to look forward to great food in just the regular dining rooms. My previous cruise
on Caribbean Princess also had food to look forward to, which has not always been the case with other cruiselines. There were 2 Princess cruises leaving on the same day, with embarkations at the same time and I heard luggages were misdirected. Fortunately my luggage arrived very fast and my check in was also accomplished very efficiently. My inside cabin was small but had lots of storage room for my clothes. I opted for separate twin beds because of reviews I had read.
The shower and bathroom are so small that I was happy that my husband and I are just medium sized. The cruise tours I took for Juneau, Ketchican and Skagway were
well organized and I enjoyed them enormously. I walked to Victoria by myself- no tour- free tour of the Parliament building. We had excellent weather in May - it was cool - average temperature 14 degrees Celsius. In Juneau, I did the Mendenhall Glacier and Tongas rainforest tour- excellent; in Skagway, I took the White Pass train ride to and back. I met another cruiser who took the bus up, and train back and saw a lot of wildlife on the bus trip. I did not see a lot of wildlife, but I enjoyed the comfort of the train. In Ketchican I took the very fast boat tour to the Misty Fjords. The boat was extremely comfortable but I did not see much wildlife, and only in the distance and it was very expensive but as I said, extremely comfortable. Cruising through Glacier Bay was a treat - icebergs close up and viewing pieces breaking off- great!
