Family Fun in Bahamas and Key West

Sail Date: July 2012
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Jacksonville

This was great cruise for our family of six especially for our children who were on their first cruise. We couldn't have asked for a better time. Our ports were Key West and Nassau. We were very fortunate to have perfect weather and calm seas.

We parked at the VIP (by airport) for $4.00/ day and rode a shuttle bus to the port. We had to wait in line 1 1/2 hours for embarkment. With the heat, it seemed like it took forever.

Our kids loved the food/ dining. The ability to get ice cream 24 hours per day made their day. The formal dining each night was good opportunity for us to try new items we wouldn't normally eat. My vegetarian daughter was able to find plenty of choices.

Entertainment - The 80's and Hey Mamba shows were outstanding. Two comedians were above average. They had comedy show for families and different show for adults. They had other enjoyable events like Minute to Win it, America's Got Talent showcase, etc. Cruise Director, Eric, was More great entertainer.

Key West - We rode the City Trolley. It was better deal than Old Town trolley. City Trolley drivers provided excellent info about Key West.

Nassau - We rode Jitney #10 to Sheraton for day pass ($25/ adults). This was really enjoyable. Sheraton provided snorkeling, kayaking, water trampoline. You have opportunity to rent jet skis as well. It wasn't very crowded which was nice.

Cabin - We had interior rooms. For what it is and the small amount of time we spent there, it was fine.

Kids Programs - Our children spent a small amount of time there. They wish they had participated in more activities with Camp Carnival.

Overall - For the price and close proximity to our home, this was a great cruise. Less

City Trolley was great. Hop on and off was easy. Trolley comes by every 15 minutes. Trolley drivers provided excellent info about Key West.
