In June of this year my husband and I took our second river cruise with Viking. In 2010 we took the Viking Sun on the Rhine River, and had such a wonderful time we decided to take the Viking Legend on the Danube. We began our cruise in Passau, Germany. As soon as we entered the ship all of our wonderful memories of our former cruise came back. The staff was welcoming and friendly. They took our bags immediately to our cabins while we were able to enjoy a lite lunch.
Our cruise took us to Salzburg, Melk, Durnstein, and Vienna Austria. All of our excursions were informative and well organized. While in Vienna we took the optional excursion in the evening to hear a Viennese orchestra and opera singers perform in a palace. It was truly one of the most memorable occasions we have had.
The next day we arrived in Bratislava, Slovakia, and had another enjoyable excursion. That night we sailed into Budapest. Our program director, Reka suggested we be up on the sundeck to see the beautiful sight of Budapest at night. She was so right! It is a spectacular sight to see the city in lights. We had another wonderful excursion and day in Budapest.
The week was full of wonderful meals on the ship, great entertainment that they had brought on board, and unforgettable excursions in all the ports.
The entire staff on the Viking Sun was friendly, helpful, knowledgable, experienced, and professional.
We have had 2 wonderful experiences with our river cruises with Viking. The people we met on the cruises have all been so nice, And helped to make our experiences so enjoyable.
We can't wait to take our next Viking River Cruise!!
