We left Rotterdam on Saturday 2nd June , our forth trip with Holland America .The embarkation was fast and efficient one can tell that they have done this so many times that they have become expert The ship is beautiful, very clean, and the cabin was all we required, clean and well presented .

But now some of the negatives . The head of Holland America in Seattle needs to have a big think on how Holland America is heading ,one can cut prices to attract guests(our price fell considerably) but if they are going to cut down on standards they are just going to loose customers to other cruise lines . The main complaint was the food . The Lido was more like a canteen with cold unappetising fare ,when one goes on holiday one hopes for something a little bit special. We found the standard in the Fontaine dinning room high on other voyages ,but definitely not this time, the service was slow and dishes poorly presented and not well cooked.

The ships staff should be praised as we believe they have been reduced in number but seem to be expected to do the same amount of work , they were forever cheerful and did all they could to make the voyage pleasant, although they had to try to keep an epidemic of Gastroenteritis at bay by cleaning day and night .
