We just completed the Alaska – Inside Passage, Vancouver to Seward trip, our first on Silverseas, and “hats off” to Silverseas and the crew of Silver Shadow. We absolutely enjoyed every moment. Our cabin (Veranda Suite – Deck 8) was comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The staff was attentive, caring and seemed genuinely eager to please. The food – WOW – great variety, quality and presentation…Excellent! We dined in all of the restaurants and enjoyed every meal. While the breakfast choices in the restaurants were great, we particularly enjoyed the in-room breakfast – very special. The entertainment was enjoyable and the guest speakers were informative, plus we never felt crowded or rushed.
Admittedly, we were a bit nervous and skeptical about some of the marketing hype as well as the cost/value of “luxury, all-inclusive” cruises such as this. However, we couldn’t be more satisfied with the end result. Plus – the little things - like: once our cabin Butler (as well as the poolside bartender) learned that I enjoyed the Alaskan craft beer, they both made sure there was always some on hand for me, plus a fresh bottle of Cabernet in our cabin every day. On our anniversary evening we came back from dinner to find our room decorated in balloons, with chilled champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to enjoy.
Simply put – no regrets. We will definitely do this again.
