Thomson Spirit Cruise Review by len c: Glad to be going from Tyne again
Glad to be going from Tyne again
We booked this cruise as it was going from the Tyne again.we had been on this ship and done the same itinerary a few years ago but as we had liked the first one so much decided to go again.
Embarkation was easy and seemed much improved on previous years (not sure how much credit goes to Thomsons and how much to Port of Tyne) We left home by taxi at 1:30 and were on board and in our cabin by 2:10. Our luggage arrived shortly thereafter.
Having been on the Spirit a number of times previously we knew our way around and what to expect. The cabin was fine but a little tired especially the shower area and a lot of the lounges have been updated with new carpeting and seating since our list trip.
The restaurant was god with a reasonable choice and whilst at times the service was a little slow this was made up for by the friendliness of the waiters.
The port were as nice as we remembered them and having been previously we generally did our own thing on shore the More only trip we took was Hellesylt all day which was EXCELLENT and would thoroughly recommend.
The only downside we found was in the show lounge were as a previous contributor noted there were a number of people hogging the seats some staying for both shows and remaining in the front row.
Disembarkation again was fine we were scheduled to go off at7:45 but got clearance a 7:30 straight off collected our cases got a taxi and were in the house just after 8:00 .
Providing Thomson continue sailing from the Tyne we will take more repeat cruises in addition to fly/cruise . Less
