Ship Facts: Crystal Serenity Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Crystal Serenity Deck Plans
What a wonderful world!
Background information- Retired from the US Navy after 30 years my wife convinced me to take a cruise and I have been hooked ever since. This was our second Crystal cruise and 9th overall, most of our cruises have been on Holland of America. We have never been on a bad cruise some better than others. I have never taken the time to write a review. We are so impressed with Crystal and the staff we felt we owed it to Crystal and future Cruisers.

Travel to Port of Embarkation - US Airways into Rome 2 days prior to cruise

Hotel info- We used Crystal pre cruise and post cruise hotel(Crystal takes the worry completely away). We Stayed at the St Regis in Rome, a beautiful hotel with great location. About a 10 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain, The staff was great. The breakfast was very good

Post Cruise in Athens we stayed at the Hotel Grand Bretagne... Wow 5 Star

Crystal representatives are at the Hotel to answer any and all question. Breakfast is served at the rooftop restaurant, what a view. We also had dinner one night a little pricey the view alone was worth the price.

Embarkation- Very smooth was on board in less than 10 minutes

Stateroom- Category B on Deck 8 aft starboard side just down from aft elevator bank. Staterooms have been refurbished since we last cruised. Very adequate stateroom with large closets. Double vanity in the bathroom. If you let your cabin steward know she will stock your fridge with your favorites. They have added a new feature on the outside of door electronic notification please clean, please do not disturb also acts as a doorbell.

Ships info- Very eloquent ship!

Dining- We were in main seating. We opted for one night in Prego and one night in Silk. Five entree offerings standard fare,

The Lido was opened for lunch but closed at 13:30 this is the only negative comment I have, your only option if you missed this was Taste or the grill.

Activities- Very nice fitness area, very adequate sauna and steam room.

Service- This is where Crystal shines all personnel must go through an extensive 6 month program before being hired, it shows. Every time the ship gets underway they play What a wonderful world and this is where you realize just that What a wonderful world it is, the crew and staff are the very best that i have experienced.

Entertainment- Daily lectures were offered, Las Vegas style shows including comedy, Broadway shows and celebrity entertainers. Nicely done!

Port and Shore excursions- This is another area that Crystal gets it right. You always have someone from the ship on your excursion with a Crystal sign. Excursions are well organized and thought out.

Disembarkation- Very smooth and efficient

Summary- Absolutely will cruise Crystal again.
