We have just returned from a 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise on Carnival Dream and we had a fabulous time. We traveled with 2 friends who had never cruised before and they can't wait to go again, they were so impressed! The ship was amazing, very clean - staff were constantly cleaning everywhere & our cabin steward was always checking we didn't need anything and cleaning our cabins perfectly.
The food was excellent with an amazing choice for lunches - can highly recommend the Tandoori and our waiter in the dining room was very friendly and very good.
Regarding entertainment, James in the piano bar was very good and entertaining however cannot say that for the cruise director as we hardly ever saw him and when we did he never spoke and had very little personality. All previous cruise directors we have met on previous cruises went out of their way to make guests welcome and their cruise fun and enjoyable however not him - it felt as if it was his first cruise!
We saw 2 shows in the Encore theater - one was virtually all hip hop, good choreography but terrible music and definatly not for anyone over 30 and the second was supposed to be country/cowboy but its a pity they didn't play music everyone knew - quite boring and they need to just listen to the current charts for song selection.
Would highly recommend this cruise but suggest you be careful with the entertainment.
