I was quite concerned before we started our cruise after reading recent reviews like: "Food was mediocre". I was ready to pack army rations as it was our first time with Royal Caribbean. Luckily we must have boarded "the other "Splendour of the Seas ship. Everything worked like clockwork.

Diego, our state room attendant, must have been hiding under the bed to clean our room about 4 times a day.

First night, after driving over 400 miles from Vienna (secure parking provided by RC in front of the departure lounge), we were tired and ate in the Windjammer cafe. What a pleasant surprise! As two professional couples - used to good food standard, we pre-booked my time dinning. After our first night experience we returned back to the Windjammer cafe again and again for tasty meals and pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to Andrew, who was keeping his sharp eye on the restaurant, it was always spotless and efficient. Team in the kitchen brought us variety of freshly made, first class restaurant food, like olive tapenade, prawns, smoke salmon salad, artichoke hearts , baked garlic, fresh pasta. Beef bourguignon tasted like Julia's Child recipe, not to mention chocolate cakes and lemon tart with strawberry caulie and warm chocolate. We were pleasantly surprised by freshly prepared variety of food during Italian night, Greece night and Edwin's perfect Indian curries selections. Lovely Tatiana kept offering nice wine.
