We arrived a day early in Venice and enjoyed strolling the Grand Canal and St.Marks Square. Embarkment was so quick and easy. The ship is very similar to Celebrity Eclipse which we sailed on 2 years ago. The Hideaway is new which is great for reading and relaxing. We especially loved the Lawn Club and the enetertainment aboard. One evening while sailing away we went up to the Lawn Club and sat on the grass while we listened to a jazz ensemble and ate wine and cheese. All complimentary. The solarium pool is outstanding for relaxing and swimming. The lounges are so comfortable and there's an abundance of fresh towels. The temperature in the hot tubs are perfect and they were no crowded. I especially liked the canopy lounges where it was so easy to read and fall asleep. The food was outstanding. Every meal was delicious and well prepared. The variey was also very good as no menu was repeated during the cruise. We especially enjoyed 'Bistro on Five.' The upcharge is only $5.00 but you can More
get as many crepes as you want and the service is wonderful. In fact, the service is wonderful all over the ship. GREAT staff who wants to please each and every guest. The Celebrity singers and dancers performed in three spectacular shows, the last one being the best we've ever seen. Guest enetrtainers were good.
Overall, Celebrity Silhouette exceeded our expectations. If you want a carefree cruise surrounded by elegance, great food and style then this ship is for you. We loved it so much that we booked 2 more Celebrity cruises through the future cruise sales which were quite busy. You have nothing to worry about once you board. Even disembarkment was so quick and easy. Less
Celebrity Silhouette Cruises to the Eastern Mediterranean
The white cliffs of Volare are fantastic to see. This shore excursion was wonderful because it took us to Polignano for a walking tour and to see the cliffs. Now I can understand why a song was written about them.
Went to sculpture gallery and home of artist. Given plenty of time to peruse the gardens and guide gave us excellent information about the artist. Next visited the Diocletian Palace and the Split Rivera. Very old, very interesting and very beautiful.
Comfortable small boat took us to the island of Murano while the tour guide pointed out interesting sights we passed and gave an extensive history of Venice. Glass factory demonstration was amazing and then given time to shop in their store. Many, many unusual pieces.
