Oriana a short but very smooth cruise break

Sail Date: June 2012
Destination: Europe - British Isles & Western
Embarkation: Southampton

Hello, My wife and Son and i have just come back from a very pleasant break on the P & O ship Oriana. The Oriana is a mid-size ship, adult only, and is geared for the UK market. The car parking at The QE2 terminal was hassle free.we were on the ship in under 20 minutes. The luggage outside our Cabins on A Deck waiting for us. The Cabin steward Seby middle aged from India was A1+ for service with a smile, nothing too much bother for him.The cabin was a Large inside with bath & shower, twin beds & sofa and dressing table, double wardrobe & two sets of drawers with Fridge,Safe and Remote TV,very nice, Tea & coffee & biscuits constantly replaced. The Oriana is a elegant ship without being too " Glitchy".

All the staff very friendly and helpful. The food in the Peninsular restaurant 2nd sitting 8.30 pm Table 38 was first class, both our Indian waiter's helpful and gave a well organized meal. The wine steward Regina from the Philippines was a delight to deal with every thing A1.The drinks More were very reasonably priced.a Bottle of the House Red £12.50,very nice. The Entertainment was of a good standard as always on P & O ships. The excursions were well organised and again reasonably priced. With free coach shuttle service or Tender boat a each port.

All the interior of the ship was in an excellent state, spotlessly clean.
The disembarking was as smooth as the boarding,Car ready & waiting. We would recommend the Oriana to any one, as good all round value for money cruise ship.
Regards Julie & Graham & James Gilbert Less

Cabin review: OBA303 Inside Twin Cabin

The Cabin a Twin Inside on A Deck, was large, the bath and Shower combined was OK,but me being 6ft 4ins the toilet was a little too close to the bath, but everything was spotless. The kettle and tea/coffee & Biscuits always topped up.The twin beds could be put together to make a large double Bed.The Drawer space was very good. The Double wardrobe just about adequate for a small cruise, but a longer cruise may have proved difficult to store everything.

Port and Shore Excursions

The Ship docked at Zeebrugge, a free shuttle to Blankenberge. We than caught a train to Brugge. 5.80 euros each return.Very nice place Brugge with lots to see and do.Boat trips around the canals well worth taking,or a Horse and Cart ride.

La Havre is a nice place to walk around, Free shuttle to Town centre and on to " The Docks " shopping arcade ".Two nice Church's to see St.Joseph and Notre Dame .You can take a tour to Paris, 3 hours + coach drive each way.

A Tender boat port this, but well worth making the trip. Lots to see and do,the German occupation during the 2nd world war well worth a look.
